    Muslim devotees throng annual Urs fair in Rajouri

    Muslim devotees converged in Rajouri city on Thursday to take part in the annual Urs fair.

    Naseem Choudhary, a devotee, said: "People from all across India come here to seek blessings on Urs and their wishes get fulfilled. My relationship with this places spans over 40 years as even my father also visited here. And we have witnessed people get their wishes fulfilled always, they have never gone home disappointed,".

    Devotees were seen offering sacred cloth and prayers at the dargah.

    Urs is the death anniversary of any departed saintly figure. Although it is an Islamic tradition, people of all faiths participate with equal reverence.

    "People of all religions come here and this is a very good thing and this shows the union and secularism and I am very happy to see this," said Afsha, a devotee.

    The general belief is that the pure-hearted individuals' wishes get fulfilled here.n view of large number of devotees attending the congregation, the city administration made elaborate arrangements.

    On their part, the devotees visiting the shrine offered fresh flowers as a symbol of their devotion. And some offered large amounts of money and expensive jewels. (ANI)
